Help PM 14" BS tension rod keeps stripping

I have a 2yo PWBS14 with no problems until recently. I recently installed the riser block on the unit and had no problem with a 1/4 blade. I then replaced the tires and put a 1/2" Timber wolf for resawing. Now when tensioning the blade the tension rod strips. I have to remove the entire assembly and cut the rod with a hack saw just to get it out of the axl assembly. This is the 2nd one that has done this, and occurred immediately after replacing the last unit. So now I have another one on order but Powermatic had no good answer and I am afraid it will do it again. Any ideas?

You might start with adding some lube to rod threads. Tom
