I made some sticks that provide a clean Craaa-ak sound when hit together.
I want the apperance to be very good.
I think the material is Honduras mahogany-pretty wood with big pores.
A film finish would crack so I intend to use an oil-type finish.
What finish would be best for this? BLO? tung oil? wiping varnish?
What could I fill the pores with to get a good appearance that will not fracture in use?
