This piece was turned for a recent competition in the KC club. The vase is box elder, the flowers on the cattails are turned out of basswood, while the fronds are planed basswood that was soaked in water then shaped with a scissors then pressed to dry and taped to a dowel to shape. The whole was air brushed.

Critiques and comments welcomed, Steve

Very imaginative Steve! Really like the form - and feet - on the vase! Turning the contents of a vase is a pretty cool idea and you did great putting it all together!

Best of luck with your competition!

Very nice. The finish looks great, and the contents of the vase are pretty darn realistic. The foot of the vessel was a nice little visual surprise.
