The first one I turned was a little small, so I turned the bigger one yesterday. Hard maple, air dried for about 10 years. The third picture shows the new one and the old one. The fourth picture shows both with a pop can for size relation.

That's a good one! I turned one that looks very similar the other day out of a piece of hickory I had lying around. I wanted something to set drive centers and just generally bonk when needed. ;-)

Now that's what I'm talking about. You can handle much bigger problems with a bigger bonker!:D

Bonkers, mallets, and wood hammers.....can a shop have too many? Nice job on both, you will use them more than you think around the shop. I've made several out of hickory and have them laying round the shop in different locations. Also made a few for some carving friends to use.

Nice bonker. If you make the handle on the next one just a little longer and you will have a fish billy(bonker).:)

Thanks, I appreciate the comments. It is fun making some of this stuff because it doesn't really take a lot of time.

I have been using my random orbital sander where it will reach. It really works good.
