(I consider my chainsaw a turning tool) Any of you chainsaw guys ever have to deal with a broken bolt on the inner side plate, the ones that hold the bar on? Are the replaceable? What is involved?

Very easy to replace. I've done it on my Husqvarna 394XP and Stihl 361. They knock into the oil tank and are installed through the same hole. The easiest way to get them into the hole is to thread a piece of strong monofilament fishing line through the hole and tie it to the new bolt, pulling it through. They tighten up in the hole through the bar plate being tightened down, you just have to line up the square retainer side of the bolt in the hole before tightening. Shouldn't take more than a few minutes, with some cursing involved perhaps lining up the bolt with the hole getting it back in.
