I made this reading lamp/end table specifically for the distressed copper shade my wife had bought and specifically for this spot between the two recliners. It offered some 'firsts' for me, to include some turquiose inlay (intended to complement the green in the copper shade), and my first hvlp spraying of a gloss laquer finish.

Woods are red oak and purpleheart.

Below the 20" diameter table are his-n-hers reading racks and cup holders.

very nice.

I like purpose built furniture. My first (and only so far) piece of 'furniture' is a side table that was built to fit my laptop.

Saw the title and thought, man this guy has been busy. Then I find out it's all in one piece lol. I'm with Lee. Some people might not like it but if it fits the purpose that you built it for then +1 on you! Looks great.

I think it came out wonderful. Very functional and looks very well made. Did a great job incorporating the purpleheart in with the oak. The cord for the lamp, does it go all the up inside the center stand? That must of been a pain in the arse.
