I have had to reboot my router today about 5 times. Whats up with that.
What do I need to do to fix this.
The laptop shows the network available but will not connect.

I would suspect your router is failing and it's time to replace it.

+1 on what Eric said. Maybe a short or bad firmware.

What kind of network comes into your router? Cable? DSL? Sometimes when the network itself becomes unreliable, you can fool yourself into thinking that rebooting the router or the computer or what not fixes things when all it is doing is making you retry the connection after a certain interval of time.

It is a DSL line

If it were me I'd check to see if there were new firmware available. If your luck is like mine, you bought a router during the time it was shipping with buggy firmware, and there's a fix available.

Any chance it is a Westell? I had one fail not long ago but before that I had the same problem with disconnects, although the main computer wouldn't work the wireless was fine.

A firmware upgrade, available on line solved it for a short time.
