Do you need to replace your DNA after you use it for a while?,or just as it gets used up on the bowls?

Just after the level goes down from what is absorbed into your bowls and such. It doesnt "go bad" but it will become dark as you soak darker bowls. Although I havent ever noticed the dark Dna ever staining any light colored blanks.

As the level of mine goes down I just add more. Mine is almost black from soaking a bunch of walnut but I just soaked some maple with no apparent problems.

I just add more to the bag when the level drops. Never had a problem with it getting old!

At each use the percentage of water in your DNA/water mixture will increase slightly, but you are adding a very small amount of water to a relatively large amount of DNA. Hence it will be a long time, if ever, before you see any difference in the effectiveness of the method.
