Well I've been waning a good solid tool rest but could never find one with a 30MM post. I was given lots of suggestions on the board but decided the best route would be to get them custom made. I still have a few kinks to work out on the inside tool rest but I think the are every bit as good as the ones you can buy online. I even had them take it a step further and add a bit of extra support in hopes of getting rid of any vibration at the end of the rest. they still need some paint but but I'll get around to that someday not too big of an issue right now. I hope they hold up. :-)

The inside tool rest in 12" long and is 1/4" thick by 2" wide
The outside tool rest is 14" long and is 1/4" thick by 2" wide

Looking forward to trying them out tomorrow.

No style points for beauty, but they look rock solid which is really all that matters. Congrats on finding something that fits the banjo.

I had one made similar but out of a solid piece for an inside rest. Found out that the support finger needs to be angles to the inside of the bowl to make up for the inside curve of the bowl, just like the support fingers on the Oneway coring system.
