My old 1947 Delta is currently undergoing a restoration as it was getting a wee bit tired. I am looking to replace the tires among other things. I was looking at these => http://www.rockler.com/product.cfm?page=5838

Anybody got any thoughts on these or other tires?

Thanks.

I put new tires on my old Sears 12" saw and they have worked fine; not sure where I got them. So I'd say go for it.

Installation was pretty simple; soak the tires in hot water then stretch them around the wheel, kinda like putting a tire on a bike wheel.

I have the rockler tires on 2 old delta's. A '47 like yours and a '69. fit just fine. The carter tires are a cool color but almost 2X the cost.

We put the Rockler tires on my dad's 1940's 14" Delta. The seam is guaranteed for life and they work great. Dip them in hot water for a spell and stretch them on; that's it.

Saw the Carters, but was wondering if they were really worth twice as much. I'll probably give the Rocklers a go. I thank you again for the insight.

jim..if you want any information or products for delta 14" BSs, i'd contact iturra design:

no website but lou iturra has probably forgotten more than most experts will ever know about BSs, and the delta 14 is his speciality. he's never steered me wrong.
