I have a line on a Delta 15 inch planer for a very good price. The seller notes that this planer was made in Brazil by Invicta. Should this be a factor in my decision? He wanted $350.

Check with Delta on the model number to see if they still support parts and check with Invicta as well. Don't believe Delta still can get parts for the invicta line. Other than that, nothing wrong with Invicta/Delta.

Delta had a bunch of stuff made by Invicta in Brazil years back, including the DJ-15 and DJ-20 jointers and a bunch of planers. My mid-80's Delta RC-51 20" planer is labeled Delta/Invicta. It is a great machine. So, bottom line, it was/is good stuff. Invicta is still selling in the US from only a limited number of dealers. It appears that most of it is still the old Delta designs. Not much can go wrong with big machinery besides belts and bearings which you can get anywhere, so I wouldn't let the fact that it is a Delta/Invicta stop you.
