Hello group,

I've been asked by a client to cut some 1/32" thick polyethelene, but I've never encountered this type of material before.

Does anyone know if it is safe and effective to cut, or does it just melt?

TIA for any guidance offered.

HDPE cuts well, but some polyethelenes can be tricky and melt too fast. I'd suggest a sample test first. Sometimes applying transfer tape on both sides and misting with water just before cutting helps with plastics that melt at a lower temperature.

Thanks much for the info. I've requested a sample for testing and will go from there.

Best regards.....
