I'm gonna go ahead and make a stack of ZCI's for my Rigid R4511 TS. I'm wondering if these are good screws (http://www.amazon.com/Alloy-Steel-Screw-Socket-Length/dp/B000FN607Y/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=industrial&qid=1270740371&sr=1-3)to go with? I wasn't sure if the post size was big enough, it seems like this is about what the leveling screws on the stock plate use, but I wasn't sure if I'd need #6 for a ZCI? I also worried that 1/2" might be too long? Any help would be great, thanks!

How thick is your ZCI at the point where the set screw will contact the saw? You will want no thicker than that measurement. I doubt that it will be 1/2" thick there. I think the ones I used were 1/4" long for my Ridgid 3612 saw. Jim.

You can go to Small Parts, that is the seller on Amazon) and get the length you need.

4-40 are really small, tough to get threads that small and fine to hold in the normal ZCI materials like MDF, ply wood etc. Look for something a bit bigger, at least a #10 or #12. Personally, I just happen to have a lifetime supply of 1/4-28 X 3/8" so that's what I use. As far as length, you just want them shorter than the thickness of your ZCI material. If you have problems with your threads breaking out, put a drop of CY glue in the hole to firm it up and re thread.

I use 1/2" BB ply and 3/8" long 1/4-20 set screws from the BORG; but 100 would keep you set for life ;-)
