Been trying to decide if the larger table would be solid enough with only the 1 rail at the back to support the 2 sides. Whayathink?
Solid enough for what? Not sure...
I thought of having spindles and a bottom rail in the rear of the top table but obviously this one doesn't.

Brian, that is how I made my nesting tables, I only used 1 rail on the larger table and used all domino joinery, it has been well over a year and they are holding up very well.

It does seem counter intuitive to leave out one of the rails, but the top being attached to the table frame will provide some of the needed structural stability.
