Maple Vessel

I wanted to try a technique that I used on a jewelry box I made in H.S. wood shop (circa '74, ouch) and on a couple that were more recent. Just a very easy relief carving. Wanted to see how I would do on a round piece. The top, as well as the photo, are inspired by the work of John Jordan. The piece is a little thicker in the base than it needs to be. I left it thick to see how I would do carving, the next will be thinner.
