View Full Version : Take me out to the ball game, take me out...How did your team do?

Though watching the plays called on the internet through delayed reaction posting  is tough to handle, the Rangers did pull it out at the end, 5-4. Would have been a good game to watch, or even better, been able to go see. But thus is the life of the working man. It's going to be hard to get to the shop in the evenings now with multiple local pro teams playing. ;) Jim.

Funny, as I have baseball on now while I am looking at SMC. Very happy to see the Sox come back against the Yankees last night! Also a lifelong
Phillies fan, and they apparently looked good today.
This week, though, my major (no pun intended) focus is on The Masters.

16-5 pounded the Cubs! Rookie Jason Heyward 3 run homer in 1st AB. Too much hype for the kid.

You had to remind me...life long Cubs fan...I was excited in the top of the first...should have turned it off and called it a season.

I'm not a Red Sox fan, but still enjoyed watching them beat the Yankees.

Our team, the Mariners, won the opener against the A's in Oakland, but despite ace Felix Hernandez pitching it was not an easy one, so I am not
as confident about this season as many others are.

Moved to Atlanta 7 years ago. What is this thing y'all call National League? Kinda like the Washington Generals every All-Star game?

Got my fitted wool cap, my Whitaker jersey, and a pair of seats from the old stadium on the patio.

Big Al went 4 for 5 with TWO dingers. Colby Rasmus had a homer and robbed Scott Rolen of what would have been his second homer off Carpenter with a fantastic over the fence catch. Yadi Molina had a grand slam. Not exactly a power hitter, his 4 bagger was typical of his homers ,barely over the fence and aided by a pigeon fart for that last 1/2" of distance. GO CARDS!

The LOML is still in Houston helping take care of the recently born twin granddaugters. The youngest son, Mike took his Mom to the opening home game there. Houston didn't win.

I stopped into a local fire company tonight. One guy (Pirate fan) had a neswpaper clipping showing Pittsburgh in first place (1-0). He had them highlighted! Figured he would get it laminated, as it's been about seventeen years!

Yanks took two of three at Fenway. All is right in the world!

More rewarding to me is the fact that my 13 yr old daughter puts the games on (muted) while she is doing homework, yapping on the phone etc. Guess her parents did something right after all.
