I have a very limited budget right this second due to me spending too much damn money on tools lately  I need to replace the cheap blades on my TS and Miter Saw. Is this blade a good all around blade in anyone's opinion for both? I've never used the Avanti blades but hear they are good for the money. Not like I do professional jobs, just a hobbyist woodworker. If not, can you recommend me a $30 or $40 blade that will work good?

Good price. I have one, and it makes good cuts.

The Freud Avanti that Amazon is selling is a good blade for your table saw. However, a blade for a miter saw should have a less aggressive tooth angle, low positive or even negative, because that affects how it grabs the wood. Google "miter saw blade tooth angle" and you'll get some useful information. Remember also that Freud no longer uses the Avanti name, and any Avanti blade you see without the Freud prefix (for example, those sold at Home Depot) is not the same blade and is, in fact, an inferior blade.

I have a Freud Avanti, and it is a decent blade. The "new" Avanti blades at HD don't look as nice. On the other hand, the Rigid blades at HD are made by Freud. I recently acquired a couple of Craftsman Professional blades, and these are also made by Freud. They are good without being too expensive.

Cheers,

Chris

I have to admit that the Ridgid blades at HD (gold colored blades) aren't too shaby in a pinch. And I also was told that they are made by Freud. Not sure about their durability but they do cut fairly clean.

The TK306 is a good low cost general purpose table saw blade, but as mentioned, it's not well suited for a miter saw....BTW, Rockler (http://www.rockler.com/product.cfm?page=22470&filter=freud%20blades) has them for $20, and there might be some free s/h coupons around.

Better to have separate blades anyway. Woodwerks.com still has some CMT inventory left at 50% off....the CMT 205.060.10 (http://www.woodwerks.com/20506010-x60atb-bore-p-2810.html) is < $35 and is much better suited for miter saw. Rockler also still has the Freud TK806 (http://www.rockler.com/product.cfm?page=22469&filter=freud%20blades)blades on sale for $30...also much better suited for miter saw than the TK306.

Thanks Scott. Did a lot of looking into the tk306 and tk806 and emailed Rockler asking them about it and the guys said pretty much what you said. So I went ahead and ordered 2 of each. Thanks again for your suggestion and for everyone elses' as well.
