HF Vacuum Pump

HF has a special on their 2.5 CFM Vacuum Pump.
Has anyone used this to build a vacuum Chuck?

Steve is right.

I do use this pump....

Good part,
28.5 inches of vacuum
runs on 120v
Very quiet

Not so good part,
The high vacuum come from using an oil bathed rotary vain, so it will vent oil mist. This will irritate your sinuses and can't be healthy.

I modified the exhaust side of the pump to connect to two filters in series to capture the oil mist.

While this pump is far better than the Holdfast, I think the optimum pump would draw 4 CFM, and I could live with a little more noise, and without the oil...
