A while back Steve Schlumph sent me a whole box of curly and birdseye maple pieces. I've really enjoyed exploring some ideas for making things from them. It's really some spectacular wood, both to turn and to look at. Anyway this is from 3 pieces of it separated by some walnut strips. It's 5.5" x 2.5", with an inner and outer lid.

Segmentation!! Great work, Curt. My all time favorite combo - curly maple/BE maple and walnut. It just doesn't get any better. Very nice style and I really like the lid. Excellent use of the "scraps."
