Sorry, not too successful with the photos. This is a 5 pt saw, I'm guessing 1870-80s. Etch says "Wilkins & Co- New York"- couldn't get a good photo.

The interesting thing is the saw nuts have been grain painted- is that original? In the photo on the left, the lighter color is not brass showing, it is a light brown paint with black stripes. I have never seen this before

Is it possible the nuts and bolts were left long and sanded or ground level with the surface?

Looks to me like a Harvey Peace No. 35. Good find. I'll bet that'll be a very nice saw.

The nuts were ground flush with the wood. Oxidizing has made them look like wood graining. Paint wouldn't stick well to brass anyway for all those years.

It's def. mill marks that are more pronounced now due to age (tarnish). Looks to be in decent shape and could become a great user if sharpened.
