Hello all, I made my wife a box out of cherry, finished with Tung oil, and has a walnut handle.

I hope you like it.

Guess I have to do another post, for the other views. Made a boo boo...

Regards,

Wes

Looks good Wes!! Looks like those joints came out nice and tight, how did you cut them, tablesaw, router, by hand??? How does the lid align with the box, hinges?

Good Job!
Brian :)

Hi Brian, thanks for the complement!

Well, I bought this toy, you see. :) It is an jointech IPM, wich I like better than the Incra's. I saw both, actually touched both, and got a heck of a deal at the Working show on the jointech system.

Used the 5/16 box joints setup. My SWMBO wants 4 more now for gifts.

I did not hinge the top, it lift's off. I took another piece of cherry, sized to fit the box opening, shrunk it a 1/32 all around. Voila, works great.

Wes

Wes -

Nice work on the box. Looks like you will real busy for the next few days knocking out some more boxes.

Seems like you made a good choice on the jig. Being able to "touch" the contenders is critical to making the best choice - the one that will work for you.

Nice job,
Ted

Hi Ted, thanks for the compliment.

Yup, I think I'll be busy. I'm going to try dovetails on the next one.

Wes
