A couple months ago our woodturning club purchased a new Jet 1642 for taking to our demonstrations. We took it to its inaugural run at our local mall and decided it should arrive in style! The truck (rebuilt by my dad) is a 1944 Studebaker on a Chevy 1 ton frame with a 445 Olds sitting under the hood. The bed is a custom made roll off that allows us to set the lathe on the ground with no effort. Here is a pic of the setup with a few members of the Glacier Woodturners Association.

That's quite the gloat - both the beautiful truck and the lathe! Sure is a great way to blow off the chips at the end of the demo!

Where are you located?

Definitely room for upgrade on the lathe. With the Olds under the hood you guys should never be lathe for a demo. Beautiful truck.
