This is the largest segmented piece that I have done so far. Its 10'' wide x 16'' tall. which doesn't sound big but its a pretty big piece. Woods are European beech, Walnut, and Maple. If you are wondering about the feature ring, I done that with matched stile and rail cabinet door router bits. I had never seen one done like that and thought it might be interesting. Antique oil for the finish, thanks for looking.

Very interesting feature ring. I can appreciate how big that is since I just roughed out my largest one yet and it was only 10 inches high. Well done!

Interesting concept, Mike. I have not seen anything done like your feature ring either. Overall, a very nice piece!

very nice. It was ironic that you used antique oil. I just read about anitique oil 2-3 days ago. Wanting to try some myself.

Once again good job and it really looks nice.

Mike,

At first I wasn't sure if I liked the feature ring or not. After looking at it more, I really like it. It looks like some of those rings made from 100's of pieces and probably took much less time.

The colors go really well together.

Another fine piece of work Mike. And yes, 16" is tall.

agreed, 16" tall is pretty dang big, especially when its 10" wide. Looks like it went pretty well though.

No pics. I have done some work that used a router bit to create the feature ring and would really like to see yours.
