Does anyone know where I can get red oak veneer that is near 1/16th thick? If not 1/16th, how about anything thicker than 1/32nd?

A well tuned bandsaw should be able to provide that. I'm not aware of any commercial sources, but I have the ability to slice my own, so I haven't looked either. Know anybody that has a larger capacity bandsaw?

I recently made my own using a band saw and my planer. I attached the resawn pieces (started out about 1/8" thick) to a carrier board that was slightly longer than the thin pieces with squares of double sided tape. After the planing was done, I carefully removed the thin strips using a putty knife to break the bond of the tape pieces.

Kenneth, in about two weeks I'll have the production line turned on to produce this product in widths up to 16", including quartersawn. I was planning to target about 1/10" thick after sanding, but should be able to produce it down to 1/16".
Please send me a PM if you'd like to discuss further. Thanks much.

Constantines. $1.75 per square foot! (Lemme see, that's $24 per board foot, for red oak!) http://www.constantines.com/116thickveneers.aspx

Actually, that's reasonable. Another site, the Veneer Store, sells 1/42nd for $.90/sq ft. Unfortunately, constantines is only 36" long and I need 56". But thanks. ;)
