Thank you, that was interesting. So happens I have a 10ER and a Mark V. Now I know why they are seperate pieces of history.

many thanks for referencing the article on my website on the beginnings of shopsmith.

i invite you to also look at this page -- link below -- about r j decristoforo, but also related to the shopsmith story. the page on rj will never be completed, because there is so much to tell.

however, it seems safe to claim that -- by his commission from shopsmith to write TWO manuals for the SS, one in 1953, and one in 1955 -- rj got started on his long career as an author of articles and books on woodworking topics .
