Can both sides of these stones be used? Is it advisable to do so?

On the professional series the only difference between the sides is that one comes with a Shapton logo stamped on it. The logo disappears the first time the stone is flattened, and afterwards the sides are just the same.

Using both sides doubles the time between flattening sessions.

I epoxied my Pros to glass. This improved the stability - they tended to flex slightly as they dried. Now they are like having extra thick glass stones.

I use both sides on my 1500 but not on the 12000.

I use both sides of mine, but I wrote the grit on the edges with a Sharpie pen, so I wouldn't lose track of which one was which.
