I dont remember if any of you remember, but about a year ago I told everyone that I was getting some lumber cut up. Had some questions about what i wanted it cut into etc. Well the day has finally come.... I got my lumber back from my Amish guy. He did a great job. So here it is, my GLOAT of the year!!!!! I will tell you that I had some logs but wanst sure how many of what I had. I had Walnut, Ash, and Red Pine. I might as well put the GLOAT in my GLOAT.... I was given these logs for free...... and it only cost me $400 to get it all cut up!

This is a pic of the load that my FIL had picked up the other day when I wasnt around. This is mostly Ash and Pine.

146512
There were some logs that were 8' to 12'. I am guessing that I have around there is around 600b/f of Ash.

146517
These are my favorite boards. These are some bookmatched 12" abotu 10-12' in length. I have a blanket chest in store for these.

146513
The four stacks on the right are all pine except for one little tiny one that is Red Cedar. Only have a few boards of that.

146514
I hate it when my truck looks like this!!!!!

146515
Except for when it is full of over 800b/f of Walnut!!!!!!

146516
There is a lot of wood in that truck.

146518
Most of the Walnut is select or better. This is some really clear stuff. My FIL is a bit jealous cause it is better looking wood than the stuff that he cut up a few years back. And they were from the same load.

This is the rest of the pine!!! I am guessing that in total, I have about 1200b/f of pine!! Again I paid for nothing but the milling.

Here is the the Walnut all stacked up to dry.

See you in a year!!!!

Naw. That's the wrong way to do it.

You gotta go to a supplier who makes a profit who gets wood from a jobber who makes a profit who gets truckloads from a mill who makes a profit who gets logs from a logger who makes a profit who goes to the landowner who makes a profit....

There.... See? That's how WE ALL DO IT!!

Thanks Mitchell, I'll have to remember that for next time I have to get some lumber. Oh wait, that wont be for a very long time. Just remind me again in about ten years when I run out.
