My friend & I donated this collaborative piece to a charity auction that was held last night.
We had a $300 retail price on it. It sold for $500. !!!
I was amazed that it sold for about a 67% premium to our retail price.
There was 7 other donated Art items auctioned off and none of them brought even close to there announced retail value. a couple only brought about 1/2 of there retail value.

Joe,
That is really a nice piece. I for one would like more details of size, finish, wood used, etc. Wish I had found this site when I lived in the Quad Cities.

Joe, I like this one - probably better than the really bright blues, etc. Congrats on the sale, and perhaps this is an indication of the expanse of your renowned work!

Excellent! I remember when you posted this back in January - so it didn't have to wait very long to find a good home!

Congrats on fetching such a nice price for the charity! Very positive way to get your name out there!

I call that a LARGE gloat and well deserved at that. Excellent form under an amazing finish, what else could one ask for. I find pricing to be very difficult but think that $300 was low.

My favorite type of gloat - I gave something away worth 500 bucks! I'll keep in mind to follow your lead. I like the graduated intesity work on the dyes.

My friend that I make collaborates with is a Very Generous Person. He's a Professional wood turning Artist who is very generous at giving of his Art & his time & his money to charities. He truly belives in Giving Back to both his local & wood turning communities.
I don't have much in the line of money but I can give back some of my time & Art to Charities.
