Many years ago PV (pre-vortex) in my flat woodworking days, if I heard of a tree needing to come down & it was a variety I wanted to have milled into lumber I would offer to cut it down, mostly friends & family. One of those trees was a cherry. For some reason I saved a chunk & waxed the whole thing, set it in the wood shed. Most of my turning at the time were pens, bottle stoppers & light pulls. About 6 years later pulled it out & turned the vase. This was when I was just starting to turn bowls & forms. Mostly happy with the form, could have came out better. Size is about 6x3, finish if I remember was friction polish & wax. As always C&C welcome

Pretty vase. The color will get better and better with time.

Pretty wood... Maybe that's why you saved it.;)

That vase begs for a tall arrangement of some kind(flowers, sticks, etc) IMHO. Nicely done.
