View Full Version : Slide sticking on Makita LS 1013

I've had an LS 1013 FL for a couple years, everything works fine except the slider sticks when
pulled all the way out & I have to give the head a nudge or sort of bump it to get it to move. Not
the safest thing to have to do with a piece of wood on the table. Pulling the slide out slowly, I can feel resistance
in the last inch or so of travel. Once moving, it works super.
It's been like this since day one, I just assumed it was because it
was new and needed some exercise. I'm far from an every day in the shop guy, but I'd think
that it's had enough cycles on it that it should have loosened up by now. The slides look and feel smooth.
Thanks to anyone with insight as to how to fix this.

Gary, I found that my 1013 FL had exactly the same affliction. When rotating the slide lock knob I was only rotating it part way - the slide ran easy and smooth except for the furtherest-out position. Eventually I tried rotating the slide lock knob 100% loose - problem solved. Good luck.

John,
Geez, who'd have thought? I'm always looking for the more complicated solution and bypass the simple options.

Thank you. If you get to Maine, I'll buy you a lobster roll & a beer.
