3 loops is easy. How are 5 done?

Maybe twisting it twice before folding it up? Why the need for 5? Just curious.

Same way you do 3. To get to three, you take 1 loop and turn it into 3. To get to 5, you take the 3 loops (which you pretend is one loop) and twist it the same way. You'll end up with 5. Each time you do it, you add two loops.

I'm with Troy... why would you want 5 loops? Maybe if you have a 36-42" saw with an enormously long band, but for probably 99% of the saws people here use the band is already fairly compact when folded in three, and anyway after that it'd get pretty difficult to keep folding, I'd think.

My blades are 152" long and I fold them to 5 loops for space. After I fold them into 3, I make one loop longer and twist it around to make 5. Seems like I struggle about every third blade and twist it the wrong way. I don't try it with a 1" blade though.

Here you go, Myk:

Five-Ring Fold (http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?t=94688)

That thread also has a few reasons why I like to fold my BS blades like this. :)

That is sort of correct but with some VERY KEY steps left out...but Paul got it and my link shows it with pictures. :)

Thanks Paul and Chris. That's exactly what I was looking for.
I can see where John was coming from. I'm thinking that would produce 6, but might look like a mobius strip. :)
I was wondering how to do it because the 4 new blades I got were 5 ring. It would be possible to make a smaller storage space for them.

Thanks all

LOL....yeah, you have to make a big ring and two small rings. I left that out.
