Birdseye/figured maple & Santos rosewood. The tops are made from one board which has sentimental value. The odd man out is my prototype, made of sugared cherry & walnut. Not sure if that is the right term - it was a piece of cherry with a lot of streaks. I didn't like it at all, but I think it works in a box. Simple lift lids, no hinges. I found the keys to be a pain. I made one then asked my wife in my most skeptical voice "Do you like the look of this?" She did, so they got keys. Thanks for looking.

Good looking boxes. I looked at the pics before I read your post and was wondering where the black sheep came from. Nice work.

Your wife has good taste! The keys really make a nice accent, but the boxes alone are still very well done. Beautiful wood, BTW.

Nicely done and that is some nice figure on those lids...
