Sean at TN does it again... or the happiness of getting new toys is contagious and spread by just reading about it. In which case, more of you are at risk!

I just ordered a Jet 1642EVS 1 1/2hp lathe. Now anxiously waiting shipping information and the the machine:D:D

Problem is I have to go out of state for the first week of April and won't get to play with it much before I get back. I have to make room for it either across the road in my 'shop' (daughter's garage) or clean out a back room currently full of tubs full of misc. junk and my wife's books (1000s). I'm leaning toward the latter as I will get more lathe time, but that puts the bandsaw, drill press, table saw, and the mini across the road. Ah well, its only a few more years to full retirement.:)

The vortex is not just a made up word is it Thom?:D:eek: Congratulations, you will absolutely love this machine. I suppose walking across the road on occasion is a fair price to pay. Looking forward to hearing how you like it and seeing some turnings.

Shipped yesterday, expected to be here Tuesday. :D:D Guess I've got my work cut out for me this weekend getting a space cleared for it.

Steve, thanks again for the info on the remote switch. That's definitely one mod that I want to do. Now to buy a new insert for my G3 chuck and. . . . the vortex is strong!!
