Are there speed chucks (aka "Jacobs" chucks) for impact wrenches that normally are used with sockets? ( I know that there are speed chucks for small impact driver tools whose normal bit is a screwdriver bit.)
The reason I ask, is that on my list of crazy experiments is to try a garden auger like: http://www.amazon.com/Yard-Butler-RP-3-2-75-Inch-Diameter/dp/B000S61YO2/ref=pd_sim_hi_1 with an electric impact tool instead of an electric drill.
For drilling in concrete block, I already tried a 1/4" masonry bit with a cordless impact driver and it works reasonably well. It's much easier to control than using the same bit with a hammer drill, which tends to dig a cave instead of make a nice round hole.
Now.... to drill in the hard clay of my yard.
