Greetings all,

Been lurking for 4-5 months; figured it was about time to jump in. Started with a Delta midi about 2 years ago; am currently turning on a PM 3520B. Turnings in pix are: 1) potpourri bowl, pear, 5" x 2 1/2", 3) lidded box, spalted ambrosia maple with wenge rim 5 1/2" x 2 1/4", and 3) platter, walnut 8" x 1 1/4". Pear and maple sourced from local trees (the rest of which are in the garage and shed), walnut from a wood swap with a local turner. All are Beall buffed finish. Apologies on the photography - don't have a photo-tent, just shooting with a Fuji S5000 against a fabric background. Comments welcomed. Hope to post some more pix over the coming weeks.

Thanks,

Bruce

Hi Bruce,

Terrific looking work. I especially like the Walnut platter. Wonderful figure and you let it speak for itself.

Best wishes,

Welcome to the Creek Bruce.
I was going to say you've got to watch this vortex.
But I can see it has already got it's hold on you with your lathe upgrade..
Nice job on the turnings.
Looking forward to seeing more of your work.

Welcome Bruce. A bunch of good folks here willing to swap stories at the drop of a hat. Your pieces are all great but I especially like the spalted box. Photo's look fine to me, no sorries required...Bill...

Welcome to the creek, Bruce, and some fine work. Like others, the spalted box is my pick of the litter, but that walnut platter is a very close second - beautiful piece of wood!

Welcome. Like the box! I have roughed out a couple of potential candidates. Hope they are still candidates once dry. Hope to see a lot more of your work!

Welcome to Creek Bruce. Those are some fine looking turnings. I like all of them but am kinda partial to the lidded box. All well done.

Welcome Bruce! I can't decide between the box or the platter, going to have to go with both. Looking forward to more of you work.

Welcome, Bruce. Nice looking stuff and looking forward to more from you. If I had to pick a favorite, I'd go for the spalted number... Amazing that you got Keeton to pick something over walnut.:D

Welcome. Nice looking pieces you turned there. I like them all but have to say you really made that walnut pop with the way you turned it and the finish.

Great work on all three. The spalted box, like many others is my favorite.
