I was having so much fun dadoing a grove for the bottom of the hope chest/window seat I am making I put a dado on an edge of 2 boards where a rabbet should be. I went ahead and rabbetted the ends after I realized my "ah ****." My question is, should I cut a thin board as a filler to help keep the edges aligned when I put the case together?
My other question is concerning the box I made. It is 14x12 inches and about 4 inches deep. Should I put strips of wood inside the box to help keep the lid from getting loose and keeping it square with the bottom? Sort of as a guide to hold the lid.
