Well guys, after building jewelry boxes for most of the females in my family, the LOML decided it was her turn. She had specific requirements, such as, it must be mostly walnut, be long and narrow to fit a specific location, divide the bottom level into 27 1-3/4" spaces for earrings and have a top sliding tray for rings etc. She said she would leave the technical details up to me. I mean, this is a lady that knows what she wants. She could never be accused of being ambivilent, so who am I to argue?

The box is "mostly walnut"and is 19" Lx 7" Wx 4-3/4" H.
the extra heighth was to accomodate the spline layout that I wanted to use. The splines and accent strips are a lamination of bubinga and maple and the top features an inlay of maple burl veneer. the finish is BLO and aerosol shellac. BTW if anybody knows a source for the slotted ring holders I would appreciate a heads up. Jim Pritchett

Also... I just emailed you, in MS Word format, a very detailed, easy way to make your own ring bars..... Hope it helps!

Rockler sells the ring bars. At least that is where I bought mine.

FAN---TAS---TIC!!! I love it and I am sure your wife does also. You did justice to the walnut and this has to be your best yet IMO!

Enjoy the "shine" outside.... ;)
