Here is a small 4 1/2" by 3 1/2" walnut potpourri bowl that I turned. Don't look real hard or you will see the small bump where it hit the floor when I dropped it coming out of the shop. OBTW don't tell my wife either, she hasn't seen the shop bump yet.

Very pretty! Need to order some of those lids sometime. In fact I'm roughing out something green right now that I would like to do that with. How big an opening do they require? Thanks.

Mike, nice work, and the walnut has a beautiful color to it! I have 6 of these waiting for my attention. Bought Claro blanks for them and the lids from CSUSA.

Baxter, they are generally 3", but they vary between styles, and the opening needs to be cut differently for each design. Curt Fuller did several in a post a month or so ago (which is what caused me to place the order!) Sucked me deeper into the vortex - thanks Curt!!:D

Baxter the opening on this one is 2 1/2" but like John mentioned they will vary from manufacture. If you are cutting blanks or roughing out I'd plan on between 2 1/2 and 3 inches.

Roger, how much is it worth for me not to fire off an email to your wife and tell all? Just kidding, a little polishing and she is as good as new. Nice, by the way, Max.

Very well done Roger, that's a really nice chunk of walnut, grain & color. I'm sure your wife will be pleased even if she finds the "bump".

Nice color, good shape, I like the pewter with the dark wood, seems like it looks rich.

Where do you get those covers? I've seen them and can't remember where.

DOH!!! I just read it....(sigh) one of those days.

That is a beauty and the wood/finish looks great. I love making those as they are good sellers.
