I had this little block of walnut I just couldn't throw in the out bin, so I decided to turn a wide brimmed bowl from it. I turned the top of the brim and then was called into the house. Upon my return I resumed cutting the bottom of the brim and somehow misjudged the angle and turned the brim right off. I was steamed, but decided to finish it anyway. I kind of like the way it turned out. My wife has it on the table to keep her evening pills where she can see them to remind her to take them.

'Ya see there, Don...Had you not mentioned it you making a "mistake" on it in the first place, I'd have never known! ;) Nice job and how in the heck to you get that Walnut to look so nice? Mine always seems to leave some tool marks in it! :o :cool:

Don,

That turned out very nice . Sometimes what first appears to be a mistake ends up spurring imagination. I think you had a nice recovery. Incidentally, I think it looks like 3 bowls stacked inside one another which may be interesting to play with...
