I made this for my 13 year old daughter. It’s far from perfect, but she likes it. I’ve had the ambrosia maple for about 2 years trying to decide what to use it for. I lined all the drawers with the velvet that she picked out. I’ve got the knobs on order. They should be here first of the week. I’m waiting on them to put the back on.

Thanks for looking

John

John, I like the combination of the woods together. What did you use as a corner joint in the drawers?

Dovetails thanks to my trusty Leigh!:D

Gary, I hadn't thought of that. Maybe I should have made it smaller.;)

Ah, nice. I wish that my Akeda could use smaller/closer together pins, it makes me build things bigger than I want to or use other joints.

Cue the neanderthal to say I should do it by hand....

Fantastic work, John. Great proportions, excellent grain match on the drawers, and the combination of mahogany and the ambrosia maple is superb. Just a really well done piece!

May I suggest hand cut dovetails on the next one?:D;)

Got the knobs today and put them on so I guess I'm finished. My daughter likes it so I guess I do too.

The Amborsia maple really sets that piece off. Any child would love to have something that nice.
