Hey all - I've got a quick question that I just can't seem to find the answer for. I'm looking for a new router with VS, but I want to make sure that the one I get also has constant speed control (ie, it compensates for the load on the bit as the wood is pushed through). Do all VS routers have this feature now, or is it called something different that I'm not searching for?

Dewalt calls it "Full Feedback" control. Most routers with soft start have it, but not all. Many routers don't have feedback control on the variable speed. It is very nice to have.

My PC 890 has feedback. It works very well, especially with large bits.

Milwaukee has the EVS with motor feedback circuity on their 5616's and 5625's. It is sweet, especially in the table and as Myk pointed out; with big bits.

So, I'm looking on the specs for the Hitachi M12V2 and the description doesn't say anything about feedback or constant speed, but the specs list say that it has 'constant speed control'. Is this the same thing? I want to say yes, but for being such a cool feature, they don't really like to say anything about it. :-)
