Help identifying - sour plum?

Can anyone comment on whether they think this is sour plum?

Whatever it is it looks like it will have some curl to it. Chuck it up and see whats inside!

Sour plum sounded like a type of moon shine to me.

Better get some leaves from it and the area you found it in. That can help too.

steve, i have some plum (don't know if it's sour or not) that a friend gave to me a couple of years ago here in VA, and that looks quite a bit like it. if you have any bark and it is tough, rough and very uneven, that would put me even more in agreement. sometimes you'll see sap on the bark, too. if it cracks when you even look at it, it probably is plum.

Sour plum sounds like a 70's band name to me! Whatever you have seems to have some white rot in it. Might be a little tough to keep from getting tearout, but should look great!
