I was doing some research/browsing/drooling over different planes and came across Derek Cohen's post about building a dovetail plane but the link was no longer active. If your willing to share Derek, I would enjoy reading the article you wrote about building your dovetail plane. Thanks I appreciate it!

There's an article in Fine Woodworking (check their archives) by William Thomas on building and using a dovetail plane plus how to cut a tapered, sliding dovetail.

He wields tools reasonably well I'd say. Never hurts to have more than one source of information.

It may be a little unorthodox but I am thinking about using this design but with a miter channel running down the middle of the board and use the miter fence instead of building a new fence.
