The joinery is pathetic, :o it's out of plumb all over the place, :o and there are gigantic glue drips all over the thing, :o but it's got legs, :) it's upright, :) the vises are attached, :) and those are good things. :)

A couple days of planing the top and this thing will be ready to use!

Yeeeeeeeeee-Hawwwww!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D

Maybe it's just the picture, but does the front vice line up with the dog Hole? Just curious.

By "front" do you mean the one on the end? If so, yes it does. :)

Where did you get that front vise from? Your bench is coming along nicely.

Tom, good job on the bench. Clean up a little glue, do a little sanding, apply a coat of oil and it is good for a lifetime of use. I love my bench that I made and it is one of my "essential" tools. :D

Is that a shop dog in a couple of the pictures or a stuffed animal? Hard to tell. I miss my little yappy shop dog. :(

Good looking bench. :)

Hi Aaron,

The vises are from an outfit called "Wholesale Tools." They are knockoffs of the standard "Record" type vise but cost only $19 each for the seven inchers, and about $29 for the larger, (9? 10? 11? inch), model.

Here is the website page showing their locations. http://www.wttool.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Store_Code=WT&Screen=locations&PHPSESSID=6d9513c3678954b7e023fd9c7e293b87

Tom,

Nice looking bench. One word of warning though is, if you are bashing on something on your bench like pounding in mortises, make sure that you dont have one of those pine knots under your work. It will most definately leave a dimple the size of the knot in your work. (DAMHIKT)

Keep up the good work,
