A lot of people have made this bowl from these plans:

Here is my version. I made it about a year ago, but it used it to try out my new photo tent last night. Thanks for looking!

Looks good. I used that same plan for my first segmented using cherry and oak scraps. I like the extra maple detail you added to the foot.

Pretty bowl. The contrasting woods look nice.

Thanks! The bottom piece of maple was originally intended as a sacrificial piece for the tenon, but I liked the pattern that was revealed as I turned it away so I kept it.

Joe,

I did the same pattern for my first segemented piece with walnut and red oak. I really like the accent peice that you left on the bottom. Since the first piece I have done 2 other segmented pieces, one with 20 pieces and one with 97 pieces. I also have tried a staved vase with 41 pieces. I am working on number 5 now and have 48 pieces in the feature ring.... Uhhh, did I mention that segmenting is addicting... you will see... Great job on your segemented bowl.... Looking forward to see your next project.

Just an excellent job! I, too, like the maple treatment on the bottom - good decision on leaving a bit of it.

Looks pretty good Joe but you could use more depth of field. You could back the camera away and zoom in with the lens if possible. Also (if possible) use a smaller lens opening (larger f number) and longer exposure. Your photo tent is off to a good start.

Nice looking piece... Thanks for the link as well. I agree with the others that it's got a nice looking bottom.:D
