View Full Version : Will All Saws Have SawStop Technology?

Looks like the inventors of the SawStop Technology tried to sell it to other saw makers before having to make the saws themselves to market the safety feature.

Subsequently, there are now a lot of suits against other makers for not using the safety system that was available to them. The first one was just settled for $1.5 million. I'd rather have my fingers.

But I will just say that it will be hard for other companies to come up with SS technology. I assume SS has major patents covering their invention, so companies will need to come up with another way to stop the blade. Are there other ways? Perhaps...

SS basically has a stranglehold...they can license their tech at a very high cost or force others out of the TS market. It will be interesting to see what happens.
