Nice looking. I like the coloring on the first one better. I can see these on the center of the table full of fruit.

Those look nice. Good form and finish. My favorite is the one with black background.

How was the poplar to turn? The one time I turned poplar it tended to be fuzzy.

Dennis thanks. My favorite was the red chestnut stained one also. The gentleman I made both of these for wanted a "brown" one. This is actually the first try with poplar, it was a little difficult but came out smooth.

Nice work on both, but I do like the first one best. I have a candle stand on the agenda to do - similar piece, but with a shallow/flat top to hold a large candle.

I really like the design of the first one. I've had one roughed out for a couple of years waiting for some sort of inspiration... now I've got it.:D
