Wood Gloat

A friend is clearing some land behind his father’s house and said I could have any of the wood I want. This is black walnut and I’m going back for more tomorrow since the weather is getting nicer. There is also a thorny locust with a burl on one of the large limbs that will be taken down soon and I got dibs on that as well. This will be my first chance at turning green walnut. Now I have to start sealing it all up.:D

I'm extremely jealous! :) Looks like a great haul for you. Earlier this week, I called all of the local tree service people and got in touch with a few Town Supervisor's and gave them my name and number so they can give me a heads up when they are cutting down trees. I was told that it will likely be April before they do much cutting because of how soft the ground is right now but I'm waiting patiently.
