Does any one know the spindle size on the Delta Model No. 1460.
I'm looking at one from craigslist guys is asking $300.00.
It also has a one HP motor and the cross slide toolrest for metal

Eric, I don't know anything about that lathe, but IMO, put $300 more with it and buy the Delta 46-460.

im with John, i've turned on a few lathes like that in High School and they don't really compare with the Delta if you are paying 300$.

Eric - also consider that very few of today's accessories will fit on that lathe. Also, you do not have a cam-lock system for the tool rest or tailstock - which means you will soon tire having to wrench things into position for each move. Plus the added advantage of busted knuckles!! Been there - done that - never again!

Eric, If you can get it for $100 You can always use that stand to mount whatever lathe you upgrade to. I only recently upgraded to a Nova 1624 from lathes like that.

I would rather take that old Delta than the Shop Fox, if those 2 are the only choices.
Better to have a good mini or midi than a mediocre full size lathe. Turning is no fun if the lathe is vibrating.
