Hey Guys and Gals.

I am thinking about getting this Habor Freight compressor item # 47065. But
something seems wrong with the CFM rating I called the store to make sure it was not a misprint on there web site. Compressor page and box show CFM ratings at 40cfm @ 115psi, 3.5cfm @ 90psi, and 8.8cfm @ 40psi. Does this seem right to everyone but me? Any help would be great. Also if any one has one could you please give a review of it. I do not use any major air tools (sanders and such) but I do plan on getting an HVLP gun some day, and I have several nailers and a stapler. All opinons welcome :)

Thanks

Tim

Except for the "40cfm @ 115psi" those numbers could be right but it's on the wimpy side if they are. Look into what the requirements are for the HVLP gun and see if this baby will work. It won't have any trouble powering your nailers and staplers.

They must have changed their specs as the web site shows 4.0 CFM at 115 psi now. It still seems odd that the 115 psi spec is higher than the 90 psi spec. I'd be suspicious.

I bet they mean 4.0 cfm @ 115 psi. Just a thought.....

It is 4 psi.

I have that air compressor and am happy with it.

I bet it's 4cfm@90psi and 3.5cfm@115psi. I think you'll find the performance of that compressor pretty anemic for anything other than small nailers. For less than $300 there are quite a few other compressors on the market that can put out 5-6cfm@90psi, which is enough to use a cup gun on small projects that take less than 30 minutes to spray (most are 50% duty cycle--30 min running out of every hour).
